Our story

Introduction of GBA

Headquartered in the vibrant international city of Hong Kong, home to one of the world’s most highly regarded airports, Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) stands for the principles of reliable travel, competitive innovation, seamless experience and excellent value for money. Our goal is to provide customers with a seamless, digitalized, affordable and memorable travel experience.

Greater Bay Airlines was established in response to the Central Government’s national strategy for developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the integration of Hong Kong into Chinese Mainland’s overall development. The completion of a third runway at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) by 2024 will further strengthen Hong Kong's position as an international aviation hub and as a connecting point into the Greater Bay Area. Cross-border infrastructure such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, high-speed ferries to the SkyPier at HKIA, high-speed rail from Hong Kong to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, an extensive motorway network, and more border crossings such as the one opened at Liantang in 2020 will facilitate travel within the region and help to make Hong Kong a smart choice for enterprises looking to participate in the development of the Greater Bay Area.

travellers with a

better option

Vision

To be the best-value carrier in the region, and to provide a platform in facilitating passenger and cargo traffic so as to support the development of Hong Kong to be a world-class aviation hub.

We believe the 55,000-square-kilometre Greater Bay Area will become a hotbed of financial and technological growth in the years to come. Our aim is to expand existing accessibility to the region by offering quality passenger and air freight services to its combined population of 86 million people.

The completion of the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport by 2024 will provide Greater Bay Airlines with a golden opportunity to expand its fleet and network. Greater Bay Airlines was granted a license by the Air Transport Licensing Authority (ATLA) to operate scheduled air service between Hong Kong and 104 routes covering Chinese Mainland, Taiwan China, Japan, South Korea and destinations in the Asia Pacific region and will expand our fleet in line with network growth.
